EFANet is a National Education Coalition that advocate for the realization of quality education for all in The Gambia. The network also aims to influence policy changes by mobilizing, building and strengthening the capacity of civil society effectively for the realization, of quality education for all. EFANet was established in 2002, in response to the Dakar Framework for Action (2000), which called for civil society participation in the formulation, implementation and monitoring of education policies and for regular dialogue with government in the implementation of these policies. While the obligation to uphold the right to education and attain the EFA goals rests with the national governments, civil society has been, and remains, a recognized and significant actor within the framework of EFA.
EDUCATION OUT LOUD-EOL
Education Out Loud is the Global Partnership for Education’s fund for advocacy and social accountability established in April 2019.
The fund also supports civil society to be active and influential in shaping education policy to better meet the needs of communities, especially of vulnerable and marginalized populations. Education Out Loud aims to enhance civil society capacities to engage in education sector planning, policy dialogue and monitoring and to promote transparency and accountability of national education sector policy. It also seeks to create a stronger global and regional enabling environment for civil society advocacy and transparency efforts in education. The Education Out Loud grant funding is managed by Oxfam IBIS. EFANet started receiving funding from Education Out Loud in January this year (2020).
